Join Wild Rosie at The Carriage House for an investigation into the potential of cyanotype, an antique and mesmerizing photographic process using the power of sunlight. Initially used to catalog botanical samples and specimens, Nina of Wild Rosie has experimented with this medium to create rich blue prints of drawings and paper cutouts. This workshop will focus on drawing and making cut paper shapes and designs, then printing our imagery onto fabric treated with cyanotype solution to create a permanent, gorgeously blue print. It's a delightful, magical, inspiring process that will inspire you more and more as you work with it.
Ages 12+ are welcome (those 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult)
Bring: Something you'd like to draw (or trace! Think a fern, a flower, a leaf— the only rule is that it can’t be someone else’s artwork :) and can fit in an 8 × 8 space. Have an idea of imagery you would like to create (ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!) and bring a sense of creative adventure and openness to the process :)
